Each student is required to prepare a report.  There are no specific requirements for lengthbut it should be sufficient to fully discuss the topic.  References (even if they are just hyperlinks)must be provided.  I am also quite fondof reports that have a distinctive flow with a good introduction andconclusion.
 
Topics
 
The topic is to be a discussion about a significant eventthat took place or a significant topic in the world of industrial hygiene.  No student is to have the same topic.  In the event that two students do choose thesame topic then whoever told me first will get it.   Although there is no specific contentrequirement I would expect the following questions and ideas to be answered.
 
1.    What was the major event that occurred or isoccurring?  What are the details?
2.    Who was involved in the incident?
3.    Why did the event occur?  Was it is intentional or an accident?
4.    What could have been done to prevent thisoccurrence?
5.    What were the health effects?
6.    What were the immediate and long termconsequences of this event?
7.    Relate this event to the world of industrialhygiene.  Think of what has been taughtin class in terms of the science, the instrumentation and the theory.  Remember the definition of industrial hygiene(AREC).
8.    What did we learn from this event and did anychanges take place after this?
 
This is not an all inclusive list but it should be a goodstart.  Remember that this isoccupational hygiene and not environmental hygiene.  Although I do expect something about theenvironmental effects I would not focus on it.
