This paper attempts to demonstrate some of the latest trends that have been adopted. It also clearly points out how each trend is beneficial to healthcare in providing services to the clients. These recent trends include the following discussed trends.

Healthcare industries have much data to manage. Computers are mainly used to automate and perform some data processes. Big data originates from the exponential increase in data size with time because of growth in the number of patients seeking health services. Big Data technologies, therefore, involve software tools to analyze, extract and process data from large and highly complex data sets, which is impossible to deal with traditional data analysis methods which are entirely manual (Pramanik et al., 2020). The new trends are adopted in analyzing the vast data in healthcare systems. This data analysis and processing in the health care industry is helping in increasing efficiency and proficiency. The use of computers is also reducing the workloads for the manual laborers’.

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic face to face handling of patients has been ceased. Mobile medical applications have been introduced, such as the Internet of Medical Things. Mobile medical application is a new technology that entails a network of people and medical devices which applies use of wireless communication to facilitate the exchange of medical data (Al-Turjman et al., 2020). For example, the wireless health monitoring system detects and transmits the data to mobile applications for processing. With the availability of a 3G and 4G network, the devices can generate alarms and send the data to remote servers. This trend is essential in reducing the healthcare workers ‘ exposure to the risk of contracting the deadly disease. Their safety is much enhanced through the minimization of physical interactions.
Using Artificial Intelligence to Improve Efficiency
Artificial Intelligence is among the modern technologies involving the simulation of human intelligence in computing devices programmed to mimic human behavior and actions. AI has improved efficiency in the healthcare industry by helping professionals in making appropriate decisions in clinical areas. Computer programs such as deep learning and machine learning techniques allow computers to learn abnormal and normal decisions that are difficult using the traditional medical record systems. Artificial intelligence makes it possible to continuously monitor people’s health (Tuli et al., 2020). Healthcare professionals are relieved by using artificial intelligence in virtual assistants, smart homed, and intelligent robots for handling disabled and elderly patients who need immediate interventions without handling them physically (Al-Turjman et al., 2020). This AI intelligence is of great importance to the health industry in helping incorrect forecasting and prediction. This helps in proper strategizing to evade the looming uncertainties.

Internet usage has increased much in the clinical and medical sectors. In the sector of health internet is used to access services, and purchase goods, and sharing health information (“Healthcare Workers,” 2021). Telehealth involves using latest technologies in communication and digital information such as mobile devices applications and computers to access healthcare services from remote locations. Again with telehealth, patients can share with doctors without walking into a hospital room. People can now manage their healthcare by use of telehealth technologies from home. Ordering medical tests and supplies are also possible with internet technologies. Therefore, telehealth helps the healthcare industry make medical services readily available to people and improve coordination and communication between the patient and healthcare team. It also improves the medical information and knowledge that is the awareness precisely.

As the healthcare industry shifts to data-centric and collaborative approaches, it is essential to establish proper communication between resources. Cloud computing is one of the trending technologies in the healthcare industry, that allows for communication and interconnection of Information technology infrastructure. Researchers and doctors can use precision medicine to develop quality medication for all people without the specification of the class or family background. Precision medicine is vital in blood transfusion by helping select the suitable donor for a specific recipient to avoid complication risks. This is very useful in offering the correct and appropriate prescription for each ailment.
Innovation in interoperability
From the healthcare industry context, interoperability refers to the ability of healthcare systems and connected devices to exchange, store and interpret data based on common standards. Multiple devices are connected to the internet to increase connectivity with additional blockchain (Jan et al., 2021). To reduce the number of intelligent devices connected to numerous decentralized networks that are isolated, the healthcare industry must address interoperability (Jan et al., 2021). Integrating private and public blockchain is one of the challenges in traditional systems, and modern trends aim to address the problem. This new trend is essential in making the healthcare industry flexible to uncertainties. The capacity to positive counter the looming dangers is boosted.

In conclusion, as the world is transforming towards intelligent technology in every sector, the healthcare industry must embrace current trends to meet quality care delivery effectively. Healthcare management across the world can embrace these developments to improve their efficiency. The healthcare industry must use those new trends. More innovations in healthcare must focus on the proper use of data and analytic tools to improve the quality of information leading to adequate healthcare.
