Determination of dependent and independent variable using ANOVA.

In this investigation, the type of mental health problem acts as the study’s independent variable (schizophrenia, eating disorders, depression, and PTSD). The patient’s level of mental impairment will serve as the dependent variable, and it will be evaluated using a combination of clinical tests and their progress in rehabilitation activities. The research design used here is called a between-subjects design, and the independent variable has four different levels. As the dependent variable is being measured through both medical testing and improvements on tasks, an interval or ratio scale is most likely the most appropriate measurement method for it. An analysis of variance (ANOVA) would be the test that would be used the most appropriately to examine the data from this study because it enables the comparison of means between two or more groups.
