To prepare for this week’s assignment, read the case “The Globalization of Walmart”. After reading the case, address the following questions related to international strategic management decisions, foreign market analysis, forms of entering markets, and exporting goods:

• How did Walmart’s international strategic management decisions, such as its choice of joint ventures and wholly owned subsidiaries, contribute to its success in Latin America and China? What are the advantages and disadvantages of these entry strategies in different markets?
• When analyzing foreign markets, what factors should Walmart have considered before entering India? How might an in-depth foreign market analysis have influenced Walmart’s approach to dealing with India’s complex market structure and regulatory challenges?
