Ethical Responsibility Reducing Stress

According to the Focus on Ethics on page 580, “companies have an ethical responsibility to provide a healthy and safe work environment for their employees.” This includes addressing issues such as stress, which can have negative impacts on both physical and mental health. However, it is important to note that while companies may have a role in contributing to or addressing stress in the workplace, they are not solely to blame for an employee’s stress levels. There are several things that companies can offer to help reduce stress for their employees, such as providing access to resources such as mental health support and counseling, implementing flexible work arrangements, and promoting a healthy work-life balance. It is also important for employees to take responsibility for their own health and well-being, especially in times of stress. Some things that employees can do for themselves to manage stress include setting boundaries, taking breaks, practicing relaxation techniques, and seeking support from colleagues or mental health professionals when needed.
