Introduce the topic you intend to research, remember to tie the topic to yourconcentration/Program. This should include your Research Problem: A statement of theresearch problem and the research question(s) of inquiry that will later drive thediscussion of methodology and procedures. You should also include your ResearchSetting: A description of the setting in which the research will take place, e.g., specificorganization, agency, school district, and/or community. One paragraph (150 – 200words) should cover this part. Remember to include citations; try to keep them less thanfive years old, except for seminal work. This should be a general business/health scienceproblem and narrowed down to a specific business/health science problem.Theoretical/Conceptual FrameworkDiscuss the theories you will be using in your research. Describe the theoreticalbase or conceptual framework from the scholarly literature that you will be studying.Relate this to your proposed research topic discussed above. Remember to clearlyidentify the theory, author/s and when first published. Please note there is usually morethan one theory, one of the theories must be business/health science related and directlyrelated to your concentration. What type of data will you use(qualitative, quantitative, primary or secondary)? This should not be longer than one page(Estimated 50 – 100 words). The methodology section should include but not limited to:• Why you selected this method;• What are the variables, how are they related (dependent vs. independent), andhow are they going to be measured;• How/Where the data will be collected/accessed (make sure that you will be ableto collect the data. We have had students completing the Proposal (chapters 1 – 3)and then finding out after filing the IRB that they cannot get the data.
