ISE 3800 Final Exam Autumn – Due December 10, 2021
Please read the following instructions and criteria carefully.
This final requires you to integrate principles, strategies, methods, behaviors and best practices from project leadership and management as well as client project consulting. These are the most key elements of what we studied and discussed in ISE3800 this semester.
If you believe the PERMA principles and strategies are of value in your case, you may incorporate them as well-but not only them-as they were supplemental to our course.
The context for the case study is that you have started your own project consulting firm. As the founder, you know how important it is to ensure consistency of applied use of a methodology on how project work gets done, as well as how your team engages most effectively with its growing client base. Your clients are generally within the manufacturing and financial services industries, but opportunistically could be potentially be in other markets. You need to ensure that your consulting firms client project teams execute effectively against the client requests and scope and have a well-defined path to manage the client project consulting life cycle, from the beginning of the engagement to implementation and closure.
You know that it’s best to have a single, integrated project management and client consulting visual framework.
For your final, using principles and best practices from this course, you are to build your integrated project management framework into a single comprehensive visual model. The model must be all encompassing, sufficiently descriptive and practical. Your model must also be able to scale (be applied adaptively) with expected growth (type of customer, blend of project complexity, industry and number of clients). Frameworks as this require considerable end to end design thinking, especially regarding applicability in diverse client environments.
For purposes of simplicity, use power point to express it, and this will be your submission.
Your submission must include these three elements:
Slide #1-Your visual framework
Slide #2-Your criteria that describes the thinking that went into its design and a short description of each of the components of your framework and how and why they integrate and connect together
Slide #3-A self-assessment that objectively identifies the pros and cons of your model. When would it work best? Where and why would it not work as well?
If you have questions, please raise them to my attention. I am open to reviewing early drafts of your submission, providing some basic directional feedback, as always.
The grading will be based upon:
Uniqueness (meaning you may refer to and use elements of other models as part of your design thought process, but not holistically adopt or copy them)
Comprehensiveness and completeness
Level of integration of course principles
Clarity of your incorporated components
Ease of application with clients (as per your self-assessment and my review)
Timeliness of submission to the deadline on Carmen (automatic grade deductions for late submission)
