Task Oriented Group Productivity

One task-oriented group that I belonged to was a group of undergraduate students working on a class project in a business course. The group consisted of five members and our task was to develop a business plan for a hypothetical startup company. Several factors affected the potential productivity of the group. One factor was the lack of clear roles and responsibilities among group members. This resulted in confusion and overlapping work, leading to inefficient use of time and resources. Another factor was the lack of communication and coordination among group members. We did not have a regular schedule for meetings and some members were not responding promptly to messages, which hindered our progress. In terms of process losses, one loss that occurred was the loss of knowledge. As we were working on different parts of the project at different times, it was difficult to keep track of the overall progress and ensure that the final product was cohesive.
